Fun with Pets

Want to join the Parade?
The parade is free and open to all. Bring your pets (all species welcome!) to the Saturday parade lineup on the East end of the park. No need to sign up, just show up and be ready to show off! 

We’re excited to announce that Dr. Apointe and her crew from Stone Mountain Animal Hospital, who have sponsored our Pet Parade for many years, will be marching with us at LakeFest!  If you and your pet don’t already know them, you’ll have a chance to meet at the festival.  Your pet will be glad you did!  

We have two pet rescue organizations as special guests at LakeFest!  Ginger Higgins of Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends (AARF), with a central store in Stone Mountain Village, will join us with free giveaways and information about their cat and dog adoptions, pet pantry and other services for pets.  All profits from AARF go to support pet rescue.  We’re also very excited that volunteers from The Exodus Group, a community service organization, will be bringing adoptable dogs to the festival—leashes  and vaccination papers provided!  You may meet your new best friend!

All pets must be leashed or caged and should be current on their shots. Please, no dangerous or wild animals.

Want to enter your pet in the Contest?
All types of pets can enter! Costumes are welcome but not required. Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume, Best Trick/Performance, and Runner Up.   If you have any questions about the Pet Parade or Pet Costume Contest, email us here!
