It’s like at the beach --- wait!  You ARE on a beach!

No entry fees – register at Town Square (only children can register? --- I need to confirm with Barry)

Building begins at 1pm, with judging at 3pm. Winners announced and prizes awarded immediately on site.

Materials Allowed

·  Sand from the Pine Lake beach

·  Forms (such as plastic containers to mold sand into shapes)

·  Tools to cut and shape the sand

·  Organic embellishments (e.g., twigs, leaves, stones)

Materials Not Allowed

·  Colored sand or sand brought from another location

·  Glass or metal embellishments

·  Synthetic embellishments (e.g., paint, plastic decorations, glitter)

Judging Criteria

• Total of 25 points possible

Creativity and originality: 1-10 points

Level of difficulty: 1-5 points

Overall appeal of sculpture: 1-10 points
